The Saudi Geographical Society has undertaken a number of research activities including forums and conferences attended by prominent geographical research figures from all over the Kingdom. Such activities have contributed greatly in enriching the role of the society and making it a more effective research institution.
Forums
1. The forum on The Teaching of Geography in Saudi Arabia held on 24/5/1990 at King Saud University. The Society, in coordination with geography departments in all Saudi universities has organized a series of lectures related to the society’s fields of interest, among which are the following: 1. Geographical research Series
The Saudi Geographical Society sponsors the publication of a geographical research series consisting of research works in the society’s field of interest submitted for publication by members of the society. The society proceeds to the arbitration, publication and distribution of these works.
